Adopt an Acre All Around the World

Since the Adopt an Acre® program began in 1991, more than 30,000 people, schools and organizations have raised $22 million to protect 600,000 acres in South America, Asia, Central America, the Caribbean and Africa. But there is much more work to be done.

You can help protect threatened habitats by adopting acres in critical locations around the world, including:

Africa's Grasslands and Savannas

Adopt an Acre in Africa and help to protect the grasslands and savannas of eastern and southern Africa, where lions, cheetahs, elephants, and wildebeests roam.

Australia's Gondwana Link

When you Adopt an Acre in Australia now, you help to protect Gondwana Link's Great Western Woodlands, considered by many to contain the largest and healthiest temperate woodland remaining on Earth.

Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula

Adopt an Acre of rainforest in Costa Rica and your gift will help the Conservancy protect and restore what remains of one of the world's most extraordinary yet highly threatened rainforests in the Osa Peninsula.

The Appalachians: United States

By adopting an acre in the Appalachians, your gift protects a multitude of endangered plants and wildlife. Bears, bobcats and moose still roam these vast, unbroken swaths of forest and your gift will help protect them.

Las Californias: United States and Mexico

Adopt an Acre in Las Californias in the United States and help to protect miles of mountainous coastline, beautiful sandy beaches and ancient redwood forests.

The Northern Rockies: United States

By adopting an acre in the Northern Rocky Mountains, you help protect this 80-million acre landscape in the United States that is still considered truly wild.

Southern Coastal Plain Forests: United States

Meandering bayous, rivers and lakes of the Southern United States will be protected when you Adopt an Acre in the Southern Forests. Help protect the home of more than 300 rare or endangered species.

Brazil: Atlantic Forest

You can also join the Conservancy in our campaign to Restore Brazil's Atlantic Forest through the Plant a Billion Trees Campaign, where just $1 plants $1 tree.

Adopt a Coral Reef

You can also protect coral reefs through our Adopt a Coral Reef Program in the following locations:

Dominican Republic

Adopt a Coral Reef of the Caribbean and your gift will help protect the largest breeding ground for the North Atlantic humpback whale population.

Palau

When you Adopt a Coral Reef today, you will help protect the coral reefs surrounding the Republic of Palau and have a lasting impact on one of the world's most threatened marine systems.

Papua New Guinea’s Kimbe Bay

By adopting the coral reefs of Papua New Guinea’s Kimbe Bay, you will protect a wealth of colorful hard and soft corals, 12 different species of marine mammals and 860 species of coral reef fish.
